The Affordable Care Act is a federal law that requires almost everyone in the U. S. to have medical coverage. Every SURS member who had medical coverage during 2015 through the state will receive a 1095-B and/or 1095-C form from CMS or the insurance provider.
Benefit payments to SURS members are not affected by the current state budget impasse. Benefit payments to members will be made on time, as scheduled.
SURS members are being contacted by someone posing as a SURS retirement representative requesting in-home meetings. SURS does not schedule in-home meetings. If you suspect fraud, please call SURS at 800-275-7877.
SURS is partnering with the U of I Extension to bring a new retirement transition program to our members ages 55-plus. “Explore Your Future” is a one-day workshop focusing on topics that encourage members to consider “what’s next” in life.
The 2015 State of Illinois Medicare Advantage (TRAIL) open enrollment period for participating annuitants and survivors is October 15 – November 16, 2015.
SURS is offering a full line-up of retirement education seminars and webinars for members enrolled in the defined-benefit plans as well as those in the Self-Managed Plan. Sign up soon!
