|Jun-09-16||SURS Discontinuing Paper Check Stubs||
SURS July 2016 benefit payment notifications (check stubs) will be mailed at the end of June. It will be the final time most members will receive a paper check stub. Beginning in July, all members who have a valid email address on file with SURS and who receive payment through direct deposit will receive an electronic notification when a payment has been issued. The notice will direct members to log in to their secure Member Website to view their payment details.

On May 3, SURS was presented with a legislative resolution and certificates of recognition from the Illinois House and Senate commemorating the System's 75th anniversary.

The State Universities Retirement System (hereinafter SURS) announces this invitation to bid (ITB) to solicit bids from responsible vendors. The scope of work entails the Installation of Direct Digital Controls, subject to continuing need and availability of funds. The work entails the replacement of existing pneumatic controls for air handling units, VAV boxes, finned tube radiation, and unit heaters as required for a complete and functional system.

The Fiscal Year 2017 Benefit Choice Period is May 1 through May 31, 2016, for SURS active members as well as annuitants and survivors not enrolled in the Medicare Advantage 'TRAIL' Program. This is the only time of the year, other than when you experience a "qualifying change in status," that you may change your coverage.

The State Universities Retirement System (SURS) is requesting responses from qualified firms interested in providing comprehensive insurance brokerage services to a public pension plan. SURS intends to engage an insurance brokerage firm to assist in obtaining all necessary business insurance coverage (with the exception of employee health and dental insurance) and to serve as our consultant with respect to risk management issues and other insurance related matters.
