Attention active SURS members in the Traditional and Portable Plans, you can log on to the SURS secure Member Website and view your current account information via your personal Member Summary page.
It’s easy! Go to www.surs.org, click the gold login button in the upper right-hand corner of the homepage and follow the prompts.
First-time users will need to complete the secure Member Website registration process to access their homepage. Once you’re logged in, click on the "My SURS" tab from your homepage to view the Member Summary page.
|Oct-30-20||Online Petitions Available Soon for Trustee Election||
The State Universities Retirement System (SURS) will hold a board election April 1 – May 3, 2021, to fill four expiring trustee positions: two annuitant seats and two active-participant seats. An impartial election services company, YesElections, will conduct the election. Candidate packets and petition forms are available from SURS. Candidates should contact Kelly Carson at firstname.lastname@example.org for information. Applications are due Dec. 31, 2020. Completed petitions will be due to SURS on Jan. 31, 2021.

The State of Illinois TRAIL Medicare Advantage open enrollment period for participating annuitants and survivors is October 15 - November 16, 2020. The 2021 plan year will begin January 1, 2021, and will run through December 31, 2021.

If you notice a change in your July benefit payment, please note that it is likely due to an increase in insurance premiums for members and dependents.
The insurance information was distributed by the Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) during the recent Benefit Choice Period that ended June 1. The new premiums begin July 1.
|May-29-20||Disability Reevaluation Orders Resume||
SURS will resume sending medical recheck requests to disability benefit (DB) and disability retirement annuity (DRA) recipients beginning this week. The requests had been temporarily discontinued due to the COVID-19 pandemic making it difficult to schedule required reevaluation appointments.
April reevaluation orders will be mailed the week of May 25, 2020.

|Apr-27-20||Benefit Choice Period for Health Insurance is May 1 - June 1, 2020||
The FY 2021 Benefit Choice Period to make health insurance changes is May 1 through June 1, 2020. This affects SURS active members as well as annuitants and survivors not enrolled in the Medicare Advantage 'TRAIL' Program. This is the only time of the year, other than when you experience a "qualifying change in status," that you may change your insurance coverage.
Members can view and make changes to their coverage through the MyBenefit’s website at MyBenefits.illinois.gov. Paper enrollment forms are no longer provided.
